KARISMA HOTELS & RESORTS OFFERS ON-SITE COVID-19 TESTING FOR GUESTS 

All  Karisma Hotels & Resorts in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica offer on-site covid-19 antigen and PCR testing options for guests at a reduced rate. Antigen testing is provided at an at-cost rate of $25 in Riviera Maya, Mexico, $31 in Negril, Jamaica, and $37 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. PCR testing is provided at an at-cost rate of $132 in Riviera Maya, Mexico, $140 in Negril, Jamaica, and $81 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

If a guest's test results are positive, quarantine accommodations will be provided at a 50% discount from current rates at time of travel. Arrangements and payment can be made directly on-site at the resorts. This rate will be extended until a doctor certifies clearance for travel with a negative test result, for a maximum stay not to exceed 14- nights.

COVID TESTING FAQ'S

Which tests is Karisma  providing?

Karisma has capabilities to provide and facilitate antigen and PCR tests on property. The on-site antigen and PCR tests are available  for guests at a reduced rate. Antigen testing is provided at an at-cost rate of $25 in Riviera Maya, Mexico, $31 in Negril, Jamaica, and $37 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. PCR testing  is provided at an at-cost rate of $132 in Riviera Maya, Mexico, $140 in Negril, Jamaica, and $81 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.



How can I book my test appointment?

In Jamaica and Dominican Republic, please contact your personal concierge on arrival to schedule your appointment.

In Mexico, you can schedule your appointment online by using the following link, https://www.costamed.com.mx/en/covid-19/grupo-karisma . If you need any assistance to complete this process, please contact your personal concierge.

Note that appointments will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis and must be scheduled at least 48 – 60 hours prior to your departure. Guests are required to arrive on time for their scheduled test appointment and comply with all requirements. If guests are late or miss their scheduled appointment, the appointment is forfeited and will automatically cancel. Guests will incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the test cost and will then have the option of rescheduling their test appointment. This cancellation fee is in addition to the cost of the and all fees are to be paid at the resort.

 Do kids have to be tested?

Children ages 2 and older must be tested prior to travel.. Children under the age of 2 are not required to get tested, in accordance with CDC guidance.



Who must test for COVID?

Any guest who is traveling to the U.S. and Canada, including winners of contests, sweepstakes and specialty arrangements as well as travel agents staying with a discounted TA rate.,travel partners staying on points, FAM trips or GIVC Diamond certificates. What happens if I produce a positive result before my scheduled return date? What does quarantining entail?

Should you produce a positive result , Karisma will provide quarantine accommodations (including room, meals, non alcoholic beverages)  at a 50% discount from current rates at time of travel. This rate will be extended and parties will be quarantined until a doctor certifies clearance for travel with a negative test result for a maximum stay  not to exceed 14 nights beginning on the first date of the positive (PCR) test result. Arrangements and payment can be made directly on-site at the resorts.

To accommodate quarantine needs, we are not able to guarantee the same level of accommodation as previously booked



What are the expectations for quarantine?

The expectations are that guests testing positive will follow doctor’s order and quarantine in their room with access to a limited menud of in-room dining and non-alcoholic drink options with according to the hospital’s recommendations. Any spouses or companions who test negative but elect to stay in the quarantine accommodations are also expected to observe quarantine best practices.



Where will those guests that test positive for Covid-19 be quarantined at the resort?

The quarantine rooms are those closest to the lobby, with easy access for an ambulance (if necessary). These rooms are not near rooms that are occupied by  non-quarantined guests.



Will you clean the room during my quarantine stay?

No cleaning will be conducted by resort staff while guests are quarantining. The guests will receive fresh towels, sheets and room amenities.



Will I receive the Gourmet Inclusive benefits during quarantine?

Guests will receive food and beverage  contact- less delivery their room; alcohol will not be provided/complimentary.



How will the resort ensure that those that test positive for Covid-19 remain quarantined?

All quarantined guests will be placed in rooms in an allocated  resort section and a security staff members will ensure guests are not wandering the property.



Does  Covid testing and 14-day quarantine include The Fives?

Do I need to take a negative test to travel to Mexico, Jamaica or the Dominican Republic?

Testing is not required to Mexico or the Dominican Republic  at this time. As per  the Jamaica Tourism Board , “All travelers ages 12 and up regardless of nationality, are required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 molecular (PCR, NAA, RNA) or Antigen test performed by an accredited lab for which the sample was collected within 3 days of the travel date.”



Do I need to produce a negative result to stay at a Karisma resort?

Testing is not required to stay at a Karisma resort at this time.



Can I get tested on-site at the resort?

What kind of COVID tests will Karisma offer on-site?

Will Karisma offer antibody tests on-site at the hotels?

No, we are only offering antigen tests and PCR tests at a reduced rate.. We will not offer antibody tests.



How long will results take to come back on the PCR and Rapid Antigen tests?

Antigen tests will take a max of 48 hours to receive results. PCR tests will take a max of 72 hours to receive results.



Can I schedule a testing appointment at my leisure, or are there set dates/ times?

Appointments are during set times and are at  a first come, first serve basis.



Is there a designated place at the resort where testing will take place, or will they come to my guest room?

Yes, testing will take place in a designated area of the resort. Locations vary by resort.



Can you print the form/ documentation needed to provide proof for travel?

We encourage guests to print any documentation necessary  ahead of travel and prior to arrival.. In the case that a guest was not able to gather the necessary documents, a front desk attendant or concierge can assist with printing options.



I previously had COVID and have the antibodies. Do I need to get tested?

Guests that have had COVID will  need to show proof of antibodies within 3 months of your travel date. If a guest recovered from COVID more than 3 months a go then they will need to get tested.



I have been vaccinated for COVID-19. Do I need to get tested and/ or can I show proof of vaccination to return to the US/ CA?

Yes, you still need to get tested.

By when do I need to produce a negative result to fly back to the US?

According to the CDC, guests must take a test/produce results within 72 hours of flying.



What happens if my flight is delayed and it goes over the 3-day limit for testing?

If your flight is delayed before departure, you will need to get re-tested if the delay causes your test to fall outside of the 3-day pre-departure testing period requirement.



If I am connecting through the US to another country, do I still need to get tested?

According to the CDC, yes. Any flight entering the US, even for a connection, requires testing before departure.



What if my result does not come back before my scheduled flight?

If a guests result does not come back before their scheduled flight, guests are at risk of not being allowed to to board the plane. Guests will  will need to wait at the airport or at the resort until results are received. Should a guest need to extendtheir stay at the resort, a reduced, distressed rate is available to book.

How much do COVID Tests Cost?

Will I need to provide any health insurance information?

You will not need to provide health insurance information to take the test. You will need a valid photo ID on hand at the time of testing.



Will my travel insurance cover any expenses associated with a positive test result?

Please consult the scope of your policy to determine any travel insurance benefits.

What happens if I produce a positive result before my scheduled return date? What does quarantining at the resort entail?

Quarantine accommodations will be provided at a 50% discount from current rates at time of travel to the sick party. If other members of the traveling group would like to stay after their original departure date, a discounted rate is being offered.



What if my travel party from my original reservation wants to stay with me during quarantine, but not in the same room?

Distressed rates are available for parties from the original reservation who want to stay during quarantine.



How often will I have to test once I have tested positive?

If and when a fuest has tested positive, they will be under the care of a doctor, who will advise on the frequency of tests.



If I start to feel Ill and test positive for Covid will I need to quarantine in a guest room? For how long?
